How well do you think Steam Machines become once they're are released on the market? Do you think that the consumers of gaming products will purchase steam machines over current existing consoles such as X-BOX ONE, Playstation 4, Wii U. Will the price of some Steam Machines dis-encourage the consumers or the matter that they haven't heard of these consoles before? these are all question to consider when replying to this thread.

the current price that steam machines are looking at are quite expensive for most of the steam machines when the target audience of console gamers who will only spend roughly $500 on their console may intimidate customers
customers may also think that they need to spend more money on the most expensive version of the console for it to function properly, which isn't entirely the case for anyone who knows how computers work

to also mention that steam machine consoles currently don't have extra features for media such as netfix, foxtel and other programs which is why im sticking to playstations and xbox (though it might be better than the wii u)

Steam machines look stupid. Valve is overpricing their 'Steam Machines' hoping that people who already spend only $500 on their console that works fine will pay full price for a bit of plastic that does nothing different from a computer. you may as well buy a computer with windows and get the same, if not better experience with access to the full library of steam games as well as use of a normal computer which lead endless opportunity. It also allows you to play any game that isn't available of steam such as battlefield or minecraft. The controller looks like a clone of the xbox controller except with more plastic and less accuracy of the actual xbox controller. people should go and buy a cheap dell computer that runs better than any of the other steam machines.

I could build a pc, but it's easier, quicker, and simpler to just get a steam box.
